Hay adultos que tienen el maravilloso don de saber ponerse en el lugar de los niños. Ese don es un regalo del amor. Basta con amar a alguien para desear conocerle y querer acercarse a su mundo.
Y la habilidad en tratar a los niños sólo puede provenir de haber visitado el lugar en que éstos suelen vivir. Ese lugar no se parece al nuestro, y por eso tantos adultos se equivocan al pedir a los pequeños cosas que no están en condiciones de hacer. ¿Pediríamos a un pájaro que dejara de volar, a un monito que no se subiera a los árboles, a una abeja que no se fuera en busca de las flores? No, no se lo pediríamos, porque no está en su naturaleza el obedecernos.
Y los niños están locos, como lo están todos los que viven al comienzo de algo. Una vida tocada por la locura es una vida abierta a nuevos principios, y por eso debe ser vigilada y querida. Y hay adultos que no sólo entienden esa locura de los niños, sino que se deleitan con ella.

There are adults who have the wonderful gift of knowing how to put themselves in children's shoes. That gift is a gift of love. It's enough to love someone to want to know them and want to learn more about their world.
And the skill in dealing with children can only come from having visited the place where they usually live. That place is not like ours, and that's why so many adults make mistakes when asking children for things they are not capable of doing. Would we ask a bird to stop flying, a monkey to stop climbing trees, a bee to stop going in search of flowers? No, we wouldn't ask them, because it's not in their nature to obey us.
And children are mad, as are all those who live at the beginning of something. A life touched by madness is a life open to new beginnings, and that's why it must be watched over and cherished. And there are adults who not only understand this madness of children, but who delight in it.

You know, I’ve always fancied myself a bit of an expert when it comes to the pint-sized population. I mean, I truly believe I have this superpower: the uncanny ability to squeeze my adult-sized feet into tiny, imaginary kid-shoes.

Und – Erwachsene die innerlich nicht frei sind – und das sind die meisten Erwachsene, also bei denen noch das Ego vorherrschend ist, als dieser Mensch noch sich selbst viel zu sehr in den Mittelpunkt stellt oder das Gegenteil, sein Licht unter den Scheffelt stellt, also Kinder tun sich sehr schwer mit solchen erwachsenen Personen, natürlich auch umgekehrt. 🙂
That is thought provoking. Every child is unique and I’ve found in my journey with my own children that I should never think each should be delt with the same. Their personality differences require different study and action in helping them develop.
