👪 Mom and Dad/ Mamá y papá 💚💖💓

Appreciate your parents, treat them with love and respect.
You will never know their full value, until the only thing that remains of them is their memory.💕

Don't wait until you can no longer be by their side, so that you value their advice, their teachings and their affection. Memories do not advise and absences do not know how to embrace...

  1. In the rush of life, don’t let time slip,
Cherish your parents, their love, their grip.
For when they’re gone, only memories remain,
Echoes of laughter, moments of pain.

Value their counsel, their wisdom untold,
Before their presence fades into the cold.
Don’t wait for absence to teach you to mourn,
Embrace them now, before they’re gone.

For memories, though precious, cannot replace,
The warmth of a hug, a familiar face.
So heed this call, before it’s too late,
Treasure your parents, don’t leave it to fate.

  2. Esto es muy cierto. Temo el día en que pierda a mis padres, y paso todo el tiempo posible con ellos. También escucho las historias que me cuentan sobre su infancia. 🤍🌷

  12. Unfortunately, because I have not had a good experience with my Father, I will never be able to feel this way about him. He was extremely abusive (my entire life) and caused a lot of issues I have to repair in myself (physically, mentally, emotionally). For him, I say, «Good Riddance.» He is dead to me, despite still being alive. I won’t cry when he dies, I will be relieved.

My Mother was neglectful and didn’t take me and my brother out of the situation with my Father, but I definitely love and appreciate her in other ways. She was as much a victim as my brother and I were. So, at least there is that.

I envy you and other people that have decent parents they will miss when they pass away. 💖

    1. Thank you so much for sharing something so personal. My father was an alcoholic, and over time I understood it was an illness, like his depression and gambling addiction. My uncle was the one who took me out during my childhood. During the last part of my father’s life, he regretted it almost daily with us, his children, and my mother. It’s clear that it shaped my self-esteem for the worse. Fortunately, my mother has always been a fighter and a role model. Best regards 🫂

      1. Addiction takes control of people and it is tragic (my brother is an alcoholic, so I understand). Sometimes people get help and get better, it is good that this happens and regret comes, but tit doesn’t repair the damage. I hope your father was able to live a better life and make good memories for you and your family before he passed. And I’m sorry you had to go through all of that. Sending hugs 💖

  16. You are right. I find that if I listen to my still small voice that guides my conscious, it may guide me to do needful helpful tasks for those around me, like parents. If I actually act on those feelings, good things happen, and if I ignore them the opposite can occur. 🪔

  20. Amen. I am without both. Despite my attempts to help them during dementia & more, I am stricken with regrets.
What adds to regret? The lack of time given and patience. Don’t do what doesn’t feel right and just. You can’t get «right» back once the chances of being the best you & the most loving & appreciative child opportunities are no more.

  21. Your words feel like a soft hand on the shoulder—gentle, steady, and true. The reminder you share doesn’t just speak to the mind; it reaches straight into the heart. There’s a quiet beauty in the way you honor the people who shaped us, even when life becomes too busy or too loud. Thank you for giving this moment of stillness, a pause to feel, remember, and appreciate.

Something often forgotten in these conversations is that honoring our parents is also a way of honoring the parts of them that live within us. Even when their stories are imperfect—or when pain exists—there are fragments of strength, resilience, humor, or gentleness that we carry forward. Recognizing those pieces can become a bridge of healing, a way to continue their legacy with grace. Your message beautifully aligns with this truth: love is not only what we give them, but also what we cultivate in ourselves because of them.
