A veces los niños, las niñas nos hacen preguntas, o dicen que no saben o protestan por lo que no les sale.
Otras nos miran en silencio, inmóviles, como esperando que les digamos qué hacer, cómo resolver, qué pensar.
Y entre las urgencias del día a día, tendemos a dar rápidamente indicaciones, explicaciones, instructivos, mucho antes de que puedan llegar a cuestionarse, a imaginar posibilidades.
Pero es valioso animar sus preguntas; sostener esas instancias de "no saber" que incitan a buscar, a explorar nuevos caminos, a fantasear, arriesgar respuestas, ensayar y descubrir.
Aprovechar esas oportunidades cotidianas requiere tiempo, paciencia, escucha...  Estar convencidos del valor de que jueguen con las ideas intentando comprender la realidad, así como dispuestos a asombrarnos y enriquecernos con los aportes de su pensamiento creativo.

Sometimes children ask us questions, or say they don't know, or protest about things they can't figure out.
Others look at us silently, motionless, as if waiting for us to tell them what to do, how to solve a problem, what to think.
And amid the urgencies of everyday life, we tend to quickly give directions, explanations, and instructions, long before they have a chance to question themselves or imagine possibilities.
But it's valuable to encourage their questions; to sustain those moments of "not knowing" that incite searching, exploring new paths, fantasizing, risking answers, experimenting, and discovering.
Taking advantage of these everyday opportunities requires time, patience, listening... Being convinced of the value of their playing with ideas in an attempt to understand reality, as well as being willing to be amazed and enriched by the contributions of their creative thinking.
