Los niños y las niñas precisan ser sostenidos, acompañados, mirados, escuchados. Precisan construir lo que sólo puede construirse desde lo que habilitamos quienes los cuidamos: haciendo cosas juntos, paseando, compartiendo comidas, buscando palabras para las experiencias más lindas y también para las otras, jugando, dándoles oportunidades para jugar con otros niños, otras niñas, ofreciéndoles espacios cuidados donde explorar con libertad... Eso requiere tiempo. Un tiempo donde también nosotros nos construimos como padres y madres. Un tiempo absolutamente necesario.

Boys and girls need to be held, accompanied, looked at, and listened to. They need to build what can only be built from what those of us who care for them enable: doing things together, walking, sharing meals, looking for words for the most beautiful experiences and also for others, playing, giving them opportunities to play with other boys, other girls, offering them well-kept spaces where they can explore freely... That takes time. A time where we also build ourselves as fathers and mothers. An absolutely necessary time.
