✍️It’s never easy,

trying to come to terms with the reality that maybe, some things just aren’t meant for us. That we can work twice, thrice as hard as the other person, and the opportunity would still land right in front of them. It’s infuriating if you look at it that way, but I like to remind myself that whatever happy moments I get to experience in my good days, whatever happy thoughts I choose to replay over and over when the world is heavy and I just want to break a smile, they were all brought by the things that I have, and not the ones that I don’t. The people who love me, love me for who I am and not for the person I want to become. Little reminders like that make it a bit easier to let go of things that I’ve always wanted, but not working out.

Little reminders like that make my heart lighter, knowing that whatever happens, all that I really have to do is look around, and I’ll know I already won some of the battles that matter most.
