Mothers give.

We give time.
We give comfort.
We give our bodies.
We give patience.
We give advice.
We give safety and stability. 

But what we get from our kids--
hugs, kisses, smiles, laughter, trust.
We get an inner strength that has no bounds.
We get a reason to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
We get a deeper understanding of who we are
and what it means to have a purpose that is bigger than ourselves.
We get the blessing and privilege of shaping our kids.
We get to give and receive the purest and most unconditional love.
